Stonyridge Vineyard was conceived and operated with the sole intention of making world-class Bordeaux-style red wine. This classic Cabernet-dominant blend is named Larose as a tribute to the rose, the most aromatic, colourful, intense, and beautiful of all flowers. Stonyridge Vineyard is a world-renowned Cabernet-blend winegrower, located on the beautiful island of Waiheke, near Auckland, New Zealand. We are dedicated to producing the finest Cabernet blends in the world (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot) using traditional winemaking.
Viticulture at Te Whau Vineyard has one aim: to produce grapes of the highest possible quality that fully reflect the characteristics of the site. Harvesting is done by hand into shallow bins to obviate any premature crushing or oxidation, and then quickly delivered to the winery. The wine will then spend between 12 and 18 months, depending on the vintage, in a mix of new and one-year-old French oak barrels, undergoing malolactic fermentation during its first winter. The wine remains in our cellar for a further six months prior to release. Production is between 500 and 800 cases a year, depending on the seasonal conditions. Sales are by mail order; at the cellar door; and at the winery restaurant and tasting-room.

Natural' wines', 'authentic wines', not 'mucked about with' wines - whatever winemakers call them, our visitors generally remark - 'Wow that's different'' or, 'I have never tasted a wine like that before''. The keys to individuality and expression of our unique terroir are growing great grapes in the vineyard using sustainable viticulture and the best of organic principles, combined with minimal intervention/additions by the winemaker ie keeping the winemaking as simple and as clean as possible. Minimal or no crushing, no fining with animal products, low sulfite protocol, nil chemical residue program, gentle hand plunging in small batches and extended cellar ageing to allow natural development. Fine wine takes time.
Woodside Hill is a small 1 Hectare vineyard located on Waiheke Island, New Zealand. The vineyard lies nestled in a larger area of native bush in association with the Whakanewha regional park. This gives the site a number of advantages; it's sheltered to the east, south and west, and it's distance to other vineyards keeps the disease pressure down. The vines planted are predominately Merlot (clone 347) - 71%, Cabernet Franc (TK05014) - 25%, and Petit Verdot (clone 400) - 4%. Open Labour Weekend - Oct 24 - 26 2pm - 5pm

The main concept behind pairings is that certain elements (such as texture and flavor) in both food and wine react differently to each other and finding the right combination of these elements will make the entire dining experience more enjoyable.
